Jane Branch – Teignmouth Artist and Portrait Drawing Tutor
After taking my degree in Printed Textile Design and Lithography, I spent the majority of my working life producing designs and images to commission in both ceramic tiles and painted wall murals. On moving to the West Country 16 years ago, at last I managed to extend and paint for my own pleasure.
The coasts of Cornwall and Devon with their rocks and rough waves are of great inspiration to me; recently I have been incorporating the figure more and more into my work, often incorporating the two.
I have an eclectic mix of work and paint whatever inspires me at any given time, using various media. I feel there should always be an element of mystery in a painting, leaving something for the viewer to interpret for themselves. My paintings represent the importance of feeling, action and an instance in time. My recent interest in portraiture is exciting and I have many inspirational artists to explore.
In 2016, I moved to Teignmouth sea-front and have now expanded my studio into the main room, giving me a lovely open outlook and much more space to work – this is now the hub of my life. I now do portrait drawing Teignmouth art workshops, if you are interested to find out more information and to book visit the Voyage Fair Trade online shop.
