Bridget Coatalen – Teignmouth weaver
I retired about 3 years ago and now have more time to do as I please. Having previously done a city and guilds “creative basketry” course, I have a knowledge of weaving using willow, Rush and mixed media. I enjoy encouraging others and showing people how easy it is to make any item they may like to have a go at. If you would like to try please visit Voyage Fair Trade to find out more information and book a place in the workshop. This could be a willow platter or larger structure, an obelisk for the garden maybe a basket, rush hat or just a decorative piece. Willow lanterns and Christmas items are also fun.
I believe everyone has creativity in them and it is just a matter of unleashing this talent within ourselves. Being able to make a 2 or 3 dimensional object with minimal tools and materials is something we have lost in this high tech age.
